"Mr. Gorbachev, Tear Down This Wall"

And down it came, 20 years ago today. And our president is too busy...with what...golfing? To be present. He doesn't understand that being the US President is more than being Barack Obama.

A great description of East and West Germany contrasts soon after the wall fell. Discussion of Stasi spies and policy to shoot to kill all attempted escapees, including women and children. The role of the church (Lutheran) in inspiring the people to seek liberty in 1989 is discussed as well. Great read.

So, Obama does not celebrate liberating the people of East Germany from that hell. Unconscionable.

Ronald Reagan was the greatest President of my lifetime. Of course, because I was born in 1966, he does not have a lot of competition. Consider the list:

Lyndon B. Johnson – Nope

Richard Nixon – No

Gerald Ford - Nice guy, I met him once, but not greater than Ron.

Jimmy Carter - Are you kidding?

Ronald Reagan - Yes. He and JPII broke the Soviet Empire.

George H. W. Bush - Had to be pulled to the right.

Bill Clinton - "Now, I have to go back to work on my State of the Union speech. And I worked on it until pretty late last night. But I want to say one thing to the American people. I want you to listen to me. I'm going to say this again: I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky. I never told anybody to lie, not a single time; never. These allegations are false. And I need to go back to work for the American people. Thank you" - Ha HA HA!

George W. Bush - No Ronald Reagan.

Barack Obama - Bigger Liar than Clinton. No Way! On his best day he is not fit to loosen Ron Reagan's sandal straps.

Barry did not go to Berlin because he is saddened to recall the fate of the great democratic state of East Germany and its fall to the imperialist nation of West Germany. East Germany was a beacon of hope to Barry and his fellow travelers. It provided free medical care, including abortions, to all its citizens. East Germany had a wonderful centrally planned economy, so it had virtually no unemployment or inflation. The citizens of East Germany had no need to own guns because the country was crime free. Education was provided not only for its citizens, but all the citizens of the world. It could be compared a recreation of Eden or even Heaven here on earth, except it was officially free of all the hindrances caused by religion and/or a belief in God and an afterlife. Its only weakness was that the wall protecting it from the aggressive neighbors to the west was not strong enough to withstand all the hordes of impoverished West Germans who were trying to sneak into this worker’s paradise.

Today we have new hope. Even though 20 years ago East Germany fell, its vision for a brighter tomorrow still enlightens Barry today. With his message “Yes, we can!” he is leading the backward thinking residents of the United States to overcome obstacles to recreate East Germany right here in the United States. Yes, we can!

I read an insightful article that discussed why Barry bowed out. It was to keep a low profile on some statements he made during his Campaign speech in Germany--most of which he has done an about-face on ever since; to avoid embarrasment.
Oh the shame of broken "promises of hope & freedom" spoken to the German people. Darn recorded speeches. How very uncomfortable for him and damaging as well to his budding relationship with the EU. How politically embarrassing now; that he fired off his big mouth then--bad timing. Gee, they just might put 2 and 2 together comming to the conclusion that he's not at all who or what they thought. He can't afford to blow his cover now.

Personally, I would prefer that Barry hit the golf course permanently or hide out at Camp David, let the Presidency alone and leave the governing to those really in charge anyway--good ole Valerie J.--& get this whole progressive hoop-la over with pronto....so we can get back to some measure of sanity in this Nation. I need a vacation from him being a part of every little thing going down; I need a rest from his high-profile face and damaging agendas. Please take a break so I can get through the next 3 years.
