We've been receiving calls for pick-ups in our neighborhood. I didn't know where the calls were coming from and no address has been left on the "receipt" cards. We looked up the phone number and found that the Don Bosco Children's Center is in Belleville and operates under the auspices of Catholic Social Services of Southern Illinois, which in turn is under the diocese.
In any case, it's a great way to help. Their calls were fortuitous for me. With small children, each season, I was gathering clothing that children outgrew. They were not particular about taking clothing out of season. They also take some small household items.
Gotta go. more anothertime.

This is a great way to recycle those items that are like new and have alot of life to them yet.
They call before they come to remind you, I just set it out labeled DBCC and they come by and pick it up.
I have told several neighbors and friends about the program and they utilize the service also. My friend's daughter was moving and wanted to donate a like new living room set and shelves and with advance notice, they arranged to pick it up.
We are thankful for the convenience of this service.
