I'd Blame Abortion, Contraception and Consumerism

Though the lax immigration law enforcement and increased immigration allowed from the Third World have had an enormous effect on the racial make-up of America. If we had been having babies as we're supposed to, the white race would not be decreasing as greatly, in absolute and relative terms.

The problem with these cultural changes is that they are bringing an approach of dependence upon government, socialism, and--I am trying to figure out how to say this last point. In other nations, even developed Europe, governments are largely met with cynicism from the people. Corruption is more open and rampant. While indeed we have corruption and government distrust here, we do abhor corruption as a society and seek to clean it out. They tolerate their corruption and don't expect anything diffrent. Thus, all can be dishonest because the government is.

We are not quite cynical in that way. We all retain hope that "any boy can be President" as Jody from Family Affair sang once, and that with open and free elections we trust the outcome. And, let's be honest, if a man with the middle name "Hussein" and an African citizen father can win, indeed, it's true. Except we've devolved into banana republic episodes in FL in 2000 and in MN this year--where the Wash governor's tactic of recounting until you win is followed by Franken.

We have prided ourselves on being a nation of laws before which all men are equal. We now shake our heads at findings and sentences by juries and judges, which often seem unfair. People are treated differently based on race, income or status. That idea of the rule of law and our whole approach toward governance, as designed by our country's founders, was based on rather Anglo ideas of the law and government. For all her faults, Britain was on the right track then, but we had to break away.

Those ideas don't seem to hold water with other groups entering our country for whatever reasons. We really expect and hope our fellow citizens and our government to operate morally. I think that's a product the US's greater religiosity than other developed nations. Also, John Adams, I think (?), said that our constitution and nation were for a moral/religious people.

Well, those are probably some provocative things I've said. I've tried to be rather diplomatic. If the white race is being reduced in America, and the culture and ethose of this nation changes, we have ourselves to blame in large part for not having babies.

I wouldn't call your comments provocative. I'd call them ignorant. If you haven't thought through these issues better than you've expressed here, you'd be much better off keeping your thoughts to yourself.

So, it's not intelligent to note that the decrease of the white population is likely due to abortion, contraception, and consumerism? It's not factually correct to note higher immigration rates from non-white nations in recent decades? It's not factual to note a lack of assimilation or acceptance of American principles by newer immigrant groups? It's not okay to speculate on whether the future America will retain the values of its founders--from which we've already moved in many ways.

I have worked for developing world governments. I have not necessarily traveled to many of them. I have had colleagues from some of those nations speaking of the culture of corruption and its acceptance in society. I have read some years ago of the European cynicism toward government. In doing international business, I've learned that the corruption in many countries and the expectations of perhaps kickbacks (to the country or an individual official) to do business are quite open in those countries unlike in the US.
